Station 22:6 is the Childrens Ministry Programme of Calvary Christian Fellowship in Motherwell. Running from Sunday 14th September 2008 this programme will be run by our Sunday School Staff for all children under the age of 12.
The programme is based on verse 6 of Proverbs chapter 22: - "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it". All material is based on the Bible and our aim is to teach children Bible truths which will assist them in their lives both now and in the future.
Captain Dan is based on Daniel in the Bible who was a man of God, the Word, prayer and integrity. He stood up for what was right in this fallen world, even in the face of death itself.
Faith is based on the characteristics of several of the women of the Bible, many of whom trusted God completely in their various circumstances.
Timmy is based on Timothy who Paul wrote to on at least 2 occassions. He was Paul's son in the faith, gifted by God and was strong in the grace of God and his companion is Rufus the dog.
Our Children's Ministry aims to fulfill the following through Station 22:6:-
T each - to teach the children about the Bible and it's relevance to them today
R each - to reach the children in the local area with something that they can enjoy and relate to
A ssist - to assist children in their understanding of the Bible and the importance of living a Godly life
I nvolve - to involve the children in the programme through crafts, children's worship, games, and a variety of other activities
N urture - to nurture the children encouraging them to grow in their knowledge of the Bible and what it stands for, and bring them into a personal relationship with Jesus
Four times a year there will be Family Services when the children will be involved in the main service. We will also be having other events such as a Harvest Party around Hallowe'en time, Christmas Party at Christmas time etc.
We have a current Child Protection Policy in place according to legislation in Scotland and all our children's workers have been cleared in line with requirements set out in the Child Protection Scotland Act 1995.
